Cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of death in the United States and in many developing countries.
The Heart Disease Prevention Program in the Division of Cardiology of UC Irvine's School of Medicine, is staffed by a multidisciplinary group of professionals dedicated to using the newest strategies in cardiovascular disease prevention — including research, teaching, community education and service — to fight heart disease. The program operates in concert with UC Irvine Healthcare's Cardiology Services' Preventive Cardiology Program, which provides patient care.
